Peppermint Cowl
The velvety Peppermint Cowl is knitted on the bias in a textured stripe pattern. Long enough to wrap twice, this cowl is worked back and forth, and the ends are grafted together. The colors are carried up the side and neatly enclosed in the I-cord selvedge to avoid having to weave in extra ends. The pattern includes a tutorial for grafting the I-cord at each side.

NOTES
-
This cowl is worked back and forth in rows and then the ends are grafted together.
-
Do not break yarn at color changes. Carry the unused color up the side of the work within the I-cord selvedge edging until it is needed again. Trap the unused color within the edging by holding the working yarn underneath the unused color when slipping the edge stitches.
-
Be careful not to overtighten the first stitch when changing colors. If the unused yarn is pulled too tightly within the I-cord edging, the fabric will be distorted on that edge.
