Deep within the mighty forests
High atop the solitary mountains
Upon the vast barren moors

Has she found her home
Proud she stands

Confident as the earth itself

An anonymous beauty

Enchanting in her shades of lilacs and reds
As her comrades wilt and fade
Stays she stubbornly put
Always the last to bow

Down to the cold grasp of winter
 - Emma Friberg
Sizes
X-Small (Small, Medium, Large)
The sock is designed to have a negative ease of
0.5-4 cm / 0.25-1.5”
And to fit a foot circumference
15.5-19 (17-20.5, 19-22.5, 20.5-24) cm / 6-7.5 (6.75-8, 7.5-8.75, 8-9.5)”
When choosing the size it is good to keep in mind that colour work is not as stretchy as stocking stitch. If a bigger size is needed round the leg than is available in the pattern, choose larger needles just for the leg
The length of the sock is adjustable. For a good fit, make socks approx. 1.5 cm / 0.5” shorter than foot length
Gauge
The socks are knit with a tight gauge to make the fabric more durable.
36 sts and 45 rnds = 10x10 cm / 4x4” in stocking stitch after blocking
Gauge was obtained on 2.25 mm / US 1 needle. I am a tight knitter so you may need to go down a needle size to obtain gauge.
