Pecan Jubilation
This pattern was inspired by special edition Baah La Jolla yarn made for Amazing Threads 15 Year Anniversary. The color is called Jubilation. I paired it with a neutral that would let the variety of colors in Jubilation shine.
This is a semicircular semi-geometric shawl knit that uses simple stitches and textures to showcase the yarn: I used one variegated yarn (Jubilation) and one solid color (Pecan) - hence the name Pecan Jubilation. I added a hank of shibui silk cloud to the fringe for light and fluffy fringe. You can easily modify the fringe to use many different types of yarn/leftovers/colors/textures. Or, no fringe at all.
I tend to knit fairly loosely, and since I used most of each of the 2 colors in the main body of the shawl, you may want to check your gauge and adjust needle sizes. I also find that Baah is quite generous with her hanks of yarn - they weighed in at over 110g to start. It would be quite easy to substitute a 3rd color if you find yourself running short of yardage
Materials:
- size 6 32” or longer circular needle, or size for gauge
- 2 -100g hanks of fingering weight yarn; one for Main Color (MC), 1 for Contrast Color (CC)
- 1 hank of shibui silk cloud for fringe - or other yarn scraps, 300-400 yards
- stitch markers for increases
- crochet hook to help add the fringe (I used size J)
