Pebbles the Penguin
Everyone needs to learn how to swim and this little cutie is
excited to take their first trip to the beach (or pool) for a
swimming lesson. Armed with their trusty floaty, this adorable
baby penguin is ready for adventure.
Pebbles the Penguin uses a variety of amigurumi techniques
to create a 3D penguin doll. Most of the components are
created by working in the round while the cap on its head is
worked back and forth in rows. The Intarsia crochet technique
is utilized to create the stripes in Pebbles’ inner tube.
Work in spiral rounds without joining.
Use a stitch marker to keep track of beginning of round
Make pieces in order as written in pattern.
For a cleaner single crochet decrease, work the SC dec
under the Flp only of each stitch rather than under both
loops. This is often referred to as an invisible decrease.
The body, wings, feet, beak, and inner tube parts of this
pattern are worked in continuous rounds (unless stated
otherwise). The cap is worked back and forth in turned rows
and then fit over the penguin’s head and sewn in place.
When making the inner tube, float unused color behind the
active color until needed again.
