Crochet Fruit Pattern
Pile them in a bowl with other fruit, make golden ones for your Christmas tree, string them up as bunting… you can have all manner of fun with these!
Like all my fruit and veg, this pear is designed to be realistic and approximately life-sized when made in double-knitting (light worsted weight, Category 3) yarn, with a 3.5mm (E-4) crochet hook.
Discounts apply when you buy all three of my fruit patterns. See my Fruit Bundle for details.
For a pear 5.5cm (2¼“) in diameter you will need approximately the following quantities:
- Main colour: 24m (26 yds)
- Brown: 1.2m (1½ yds)
But of course you can make mini or mammoth, fuzzy or sparkly fruit with different yarns and an appropriate hook!
The pattern includes detailed notes on yarn quantities and types, and stuffing choices.
The patterns are available in either UK or US crochet terminology. Both files will be made available to you on completion of payment, and you can just choose whichever you prefer to use.
The UK patterns list suitable yarns currently available in the UK.
Important features of my crochet patterns:
My crochet patterns include BOTH a detailed ‘tutorial-style’ set of instructions with colour photos, AND a succinct unillustrated pattern using standard crochet conventions.
I have developed this style because I find I like to see a lot of detail the first time I work a pattern, but if I then work the same piece again, I don’t need the pictures, etc, and indeed they can get in the way when I just want a quick reminder of what I’m doing. The PDF is also structured so that the succinct version, with an area for your own notes, is on a single page, making it easy to just take one sheet of paper with you if you have printed it out for quick reference on the move.
All my patterns come with full support! If you have any difficulties, please contact me. Rest assured I am a real person and I’d love to hear from you and see pictures of your finished pear! :-)
Please see my other patterns for more fruit and vegetables. A discount is available if you order more than two patterns.
