’Peacock feather’ stole is a slanted rectangle (which makes it easy to both knit and wear; it can double as a scarf and a shawl!)
The pattern is highly customizable (you can even call it a recipe). It gives you lots of freedom to play with the shawl width / length and print placement.

It is knit from the short side on the bias, so throughout the whole project you keep a constant number of stitches on the needles, by increasing 1 stitch on the right, and decreasing 1 on the left in every 2nd row.

Yarn: you will need two yarns of similar weight. This pattern is a recipe, so the final yardage and size of the stole will depend on your yarn choice, and how many repeats of the print you make width- and length-wise. The pattern gives directions for two standard options, written as Option 1 (Option 2).

Needles:

The size of the needles depends on the selected yarn, how tight you knit and your preferred fabric drape.
You will need a pair of main size you choose + 0.5 mm/ size thicker ones to create stretchier cast-on and bind-off edges.

Techniques

• Classic long-tail cast-on and classic bind-off
• Knit front & back (KFB) - 1 st increase
• Purl 2 stitches together (p2tog) - 1 st decrease
