Peacock Feather Java Motif
This crochet peacock feather applique or motif called “Java” is my own original design. It measures 8.5 x 11.5cm / 3.4 x 4.6in and you could for example use it to embellish bags, hats, box lids, or make lovely garlands, which would make wonderful gifts.
This design is suitable for BEGINNERS since it has clear written instructions and a lot of photos. All you need is a 2.5 mm (D) hook and be familiar with the basic crochet stitches. The pattern is written in US crochet terminology and has a table with the corresponding UK terminology. It’s also available in DUTCH and GERMAN.
I also sell KITS to make the 5 feathers as depicted in the first photo on the left. Since I sourced all the colours from 5 different brands - which is not very convenient - I decided to make a KIT so that you can make exactly the same feathers. Here’s the link to the kit:

There are now FREE JOIN AS YOU GO INSTRUCTIONS for an afghan or blanket. The lovely Cassie from Cassie1979 has designed a wonderful JAYG method to turn the Java motif into an eye-catching throw. You’ll find the free instructions at:

When you buy my original design patterns, feel free to sell the items that you make from them. You bought it, do with the finished items what you want.
However, I would appreciate it that you do not sell or distribute them to others and that where possible you credit me for the design with a link to my shop when you publish photos of the finished items.
Thank you!
