In honor of River Knits’ 14th anniversary, here is a special sock pattern, designed for our local sock club, featuring confetti, streamers and stars.

There is a second option to use the simpler chart for the foot on the leg of the sock if you don’t want to party too hard.

I was also thinking of Prince when I was designing the sock which is why the main color is purple. You will need about 100g of solid sock yarn and about 50g of contrasting sock yarn in a fun multicolor that makes you feel like you could Party with Prince!

This pattern is worked on larger needles and with a greater cast on number than usual to account for the lack of stretch than can accompany stranded knitting. The socks pictured fit both me, a plus size woman who wears a size 9US shoe; and my daughter, who is a size four (US) and wears a size 7US shoe. It can accommodate a variety of women’s sizes.
