From Never Knit Your Man a Sweater…

You have a spare hair dryer at his place and his extra toothbrush occupies a space in your bathroom. It seems there’s no stopping you now, so go ahead and take the plunge: Knit him a sweater, complete with sleeves. Make this basic Stockinette Stitch crew neck in colors that flatter you - there’s nothing like lounging around and reading the Sunday paper in his sweater.

This crew begins with a provisional cast-on, and the live stitches of the bottom edge are folded up and hemmed on the inside. Remember that cotton tends to have a mind of its own; it will stretch quite a bit between necessary and careful washings. It’s also not a fiber to wear near water because it gets very heavy when wet. If the two of you are out boating while he wears this sweater and he falls overboard, he may have a hard time staying afloat!
