Parisian Dreams
This pullover was inspired by my desire for a garment that I could just throw on without fussing over but still look good, and its a relaxed fit boxy shaped pullover that does just that! Its comfortable and cosy to wear and a great layering piece or works well as something light to throw on for a slightly cool day.
The stitch pattern on the front combines a few of my favourite knitting techniques - lace, cables and twisted stitches - I love how this all came together while still being a fun and engaging knit, and as usual I hope you will enjoy knitting it as much as I did.
What you will need:
Yarn – 300-500gm of Fingering weight Yarn (400m per 100gm) – Yarn used for the sample is Lavender Mountain Yarn Co on the MCN base (SW Merino, Cashmere & Nylon base) in the Mauvin Right Along Colourway. See size chart for more information regarding yardage amounts for each size.
Needles - 3.5mm (US4) on 80cm (32in) or 100cm (40in) for larger sizes and 40cm (16in) circulars, (a spare set of long circular needles can also be handy to use as stitch holders) you will also need needles on a long cord to work the sleeves in Magic Loop or you can also use DPN’s.
Notions –
- 6-12 Stitch markers for marking lace pattern repeats
- Beginning of Round Marker, and side seam marker
- Scrap yarn (or stitch holders),
- Tapestry NeedleGauge – The Gauge is 24sts/4inches and 32rows/4inches measured over Stockinette. The Gauge in the lace pattern is 24sts/4inches and 32rows/4inches – Gauge should be measured AFTER blocking.
Sizing – The pattern includes 8 sizes ranging from 33” up to 70” and the finished garment is intended to be worn with 4-6 inches (10-15cm) of positive ease so you will need to pick the size that will give you the amount of ease you want (see sizing chart and schematic in the photos on the left). The length of the sleeves (18inches / 45cm) can be easily adjusted to suit your preference and there are notes included on how to adjust the length of the body if you wish to make it shorter/longer.
