A simple winding pattern with an extra twist! The thick, warm Paper Bark cowl is named after the twisty tea tree.

The cowl is worked in the round in a tube, with a pattern that winds around and around. The tube is then twisted for an additional swirl before joining into a circle.

The cowl can be made with Worsted weight yarn for a snug indoor/outdoor accessory, or with Aran weight (shown) for a cold-weather go-to that fills the gap between coat and hood.

Make sure to choose yarn that shows excellent stitch definition, so your twisting pattern will stand out.
