Paint by Numbers
Color-work stitch patterns are numbered 1 - 10. Get ready to jump back and forth between stitch patterns. Follow the pattern as written or not. You decide.
Pattern is worked in the round resulting in a tube. One end of the scarf can double as a hat, in case of an emergency. Or better yet, insert hands at each end for an instant muffler.
Supplies:
3 skeins Liberty Wool or approx 366 yards of a solid worsted weight yarn / Main color
2 skeins Liberty Wool Paint or approx 244 yards of a painted worsted weight yarn / Contrasting color
Size 7 - 16” circular needle or size to obtain gauge
1 stitch marker to indicate beginning of round
Gauge: 5 sts per 1” in stockinette stitch
Finished Size: 8” x 54” after wet blocking
Notes:
Carry yarn throughout.
Do not cut yarn between color changes.
Pay close attention to your tension while working charts.
Carry yarn loosely along back of work.
Work charts from bottom up and right to left.
