Pacem
Pacem is a top down, long-sleeved pullover with fair isle patterning along the yoke and sleeves and a simple lace insert sandwiched between the fair isle on the yoke. It is the result of my yearning for a quick, oversized knit that would be comfy and warm in the winter months and allow a multitude of color options for the yoke.
The instructions for the fair isle patterns are charted. Additional charts with no colors are included at the end of the pattern if you wish to color in the charts to match the yarn you’ve chosen.
This sweater is meant to be a quick knit and uses worsted or aran weight yarn. I knit my versions up in Peace Fleece Worsted. This is also a great sweater for using up those leftovers for the CC(s). Don’t be afraid to hold yarn double if it works. The yoke is your canvas, so please have some fun!
Options to alter the sleeve length, cuff circumference and body shape are included within the pattern. German short rows are used to shape the neckline before and after the yoke pattern is completed.
