Oyster Beds
This pattern is part of Coastal Path Knits, a collection of ten knitting patterns inspired England’s East Anglian coastline. See this thread for more information about these patterns.
Mersea Island on the Essex coast is famous for it’s oysters, for over 2000 years they’ve been cultivated around the creaks of the island and were once much sort after by the Romans. It’s very rare to find a pearl in these local oysters but the iridescent shells are just as pretty.
The Oyster Beds shawl is knit from the top down starting with a garter tab. The size can be increased by repeating the main section as many times as desired.
This is a written pattern with no charts.
