West Yorkshire Spinner Fleece Aran (aran; 100% Blue Faced Leicester; 166m / 181yd per 100g skein)
Shade: Light Brown; 1 (1, 1) x 100g skeins

4mm / US 6 circular needle 40cm / 16in length (or 80cm / 32in length for magic loop)
5mm / US 8 circular needle 40cm / 16in length (or 80cm / 32in length for magic loop)
5mm / US 8 set of DPNs for crown decreases, or longer circular needle for magic loop

Gauge

Always use the needle size that enables you to match the specified gauge.
18 sts and 24 rnds over 10cm / 4in of textured stitch worked in the rnd and blocked, using 5mm / US 8 needles
20 sts and 29 rnds over 10cm / 4in of twisted ribbing worked in the rnd and blocked, using 4mm / US 6 needles

Pattern Notes

The hat is fairly fitted, if you prefer a slouchy hat extend the brim by working round 13 until you have reached the desired brim length (as written the brim is 6.5cm / 2.5in).
