Östra Aros was the name given to the town
today known as Uppsala.
Aros means debouch and alludes to the place where the creek Fyrisån meets the lake Mälaren.

The sock’s circumference around the ball of the foot is
15 (17.5) 20 (22.5) 25 cm round the foot of the sock to fit foot circumferences of 16-20 (18,5-22,5) 21-25 (23,5-27,5) 26-30 cm.
The sizes are knit over 48 (56) 64 (72) sts around the foot and leg.

The sock is designed to have negative ease around the foot of 1-5 cm / 0.5-2”. That means that the socks are designed to fit feet with a circumference around the ball of the foot of:
16-20 (18.5-22.5) 21-25 (23.5-27.5) 26-30 cm.
The length of the sock is adjustable.
For a good fit, knit the socks 1.5 cm / 0.5” shorter than the foot length.

GAUGE
32 sts and 42 rnds = 10x10 cm in stocking stitch and pattern afer blocking
Normally I would recommend knitting a swatch to make sure your gauge is correct. When knitting socks, the toe can serve as a swatch, just be prepared that you might need to start the toe over again.

YARN USED
Sandnes Sisu 75% wool/25% nylon 175 m per 50 g skein
or plump Fingering weight sock yarn of your own choice, approx. 340-400 m/100g

Amount of yarn needed for each size:
Colour A: 50 (100) 100 (100) 100 g
Colour B: 50 (50) 50 (50) 50 g

NOTIONS & NEEDLES
4 stitch markers
1 unique stitch marker for BOR m
Tapestry needle
Cable needle
Needles for working on a small circumference in size to obtain gauge, e.g. circular needles of at least 80 cm, DPNs, 23 cm circulars or CrazyTrios
When knitting the sample, the gauge was obtained on 2.5 mm
Note that I am a tight knitter so you may need to go down a needle size to obtain gauge.
