DESCRIPTION

OSPREY is a squishy, simple pullover with clean lines and quiet texture. This pattern was adapted from PLOVER, the lightweight warm-weather cardigan in a loose gauge that was originally published in Making No. 9 / SIMPLE. Knit in a heavier yarn at a denser gauge than Plover, Osprey includes 9 sizes and drections and yarn requirements for two lengths (cropped/full length). This versatile pullover makes the perfect layering piece for any cool-weather wardrobe.

SIZING

To choose your size, measure the circumference of your torso around the fullest part of your chest and choose the size that fits with 6-14” of ease. If you are between sizes, you can size up or down depending on whether you want more or less ease in the bicep.

Sizes by finished bust circumference:
In inches: (40, 44, 48) [52, 56, 60] {64, 68, 72}
In centimeters: (101.5, 112, 122) [132, 142, 152.5] {162.5, 172.5, 183}

In the pattern photos, Jaq is wearing a cropped size 6 (60” /152.5cm) with 6” of positive ease.

GAUGE, NEEDLES, NOTIONS

Gauge: 16 sts and 34 rows over 4”/10cm in half brioche stitch after blocking

Recommended needles: US 5 (3.75 mm) 32”/80 cm circular needle

Notions: stitch markers, locking stitch marker, stitch holders or scrap yarn, darning needle

YARN

This sweater was designed in a sport weight wool/wool blend. I knit my sample in The Farmers Daughter Fibers Recollect (57g / 185 yd / 169 m), a 100% Montana Rambouillet wool with a loose ply that is super soft with a subtle tweedy texture.

CROPPED:
Yards: (875, 925, 1000) [1100, 1225, 1375] {1550, 1750, 1975}
Meters: (800, 850, 925) [1000, 1125, 1250] {1425, 1600, 1800}

FULL LENGTH:
Yards: (1075, 1150, 1250) [1375, 1550, 1725] {1950, 2200, 2475}
Meters: (1000, 1050, 1150) [1250, 1425, 1575] {1775, 2000, 2250}
