Oscilloscope - A Thin Blue Line
An oscilloscope depicts changes in electric current. Oscilloscope the infinity scarf lets knitters change from easy, soothing stitching to a brief bit of colourwork, and then back to easy stitching again.
Oscilloscope is cast-on provisionally, knit in the round with a small stranded colourwork section, and then is joined/grafted with the kitchener stitch.
Oscilloscope as shown uses 3 skeins of the specified main colour (MC) and 80 yds of a contrast colour (CC), but is generously sized and may be made correspondingly shorter with a smaller amount of lace weight yarn. For best results, MC should be darker than CC.
Yarn Requirements: Lace weight yarn with approximately 464 yd/424m per 50g.
Main Colour (MC): 1250 yds/1145 m. Shown in Diamond Luxury Collection Pima Lino Lace (3 skeins), 60% pima cotton, 40% linen, colour #300.
Contrast Colour (CC): 80 yds/73 m. Shown in Diamond Luxury Collection Pima Lino Lace, 60% pima cotton, 40% linen, colour #7750.
Needles: One US 1.5/2.5 mm circular, 16 in/40 cm long, or size needed to obtain gauge, and one US 2/2.75 mm, 16 in/40 cm long for colourwork section.
Notions: Small amount of waste fingering weight yarn, stitch markers, darning needle.
Gauge: 32 stitches and 36 rounds per 4 inches in stockinette stitch on US 1.5/2.5 mm needles.
This pattern has been professionally photographed and tech-edited.
