Origami Crane
After a journey through Japan last year i came in touch with the art of folding origami. Of course i knew it already but never did it. Especially the origami cranes which i found a lot at temples were interesting me and so i learned to fold them. Back in my homeland i fold and fold and get to know even more about the backgound story of the cranes.
Until today i still fold them and even more, but it came to my mind that folding could not be the only option, i guess crochet one was also an option. I searched and of course there were already some fine designs, however they did not fit the idea that was in my head.
So after a lot of prototypes and designing i had a final version. And here is the free pattern ! I made up a written instruction with photo tutorial which you can find on my blog. You can make it whatever yarn you like. All sizes takes around the 5 - 10 grams of yarn and so they are perfect fo using up some scrap yarns.
For the examples i used :
- Scheepjes Colour Crafter with a 4 mm hook
- Scheepjes Stonewashed with a 3,5 mm hook
- Scheepjes Sugar Rush with a 1,5 mm hook
- Schachenmayr Catania with a 2,5 mm hook
- Opal sock yarn with a 2,5 mm hook
But you can take up any yarn and just use the recommended hook size.
Besides yarn you only have to use a scissor and sewing needle.
The pattern is written in English and has US/European abbreviations.
Please share any finished projects with this pattern here on Ravelry, or send them via my blog in a message so i can collect some for a post.
Thanks so much in advance for using my pattern and spread some luck and love in the world with making this crane.
