The Oriental Bay Boatsheds in my home city reminded me of classic beach huts and the decadence of the 1920’s. Pop into the beach hut and into your knitted swimming costume and hat. Plunge into the waves and back out again, quick smart, to scoff a Martini; throwing your shawl around you to keep you warm.

This is a crescent shaped shawl long and relatively shallow, designed so that you can change it from a scarf to keep your neck warm into a classic wrap for an evening out.

The pattern has both written and charted instructions and is ideal if this is your first chart as you can check from the written instructions.

Skills/Techniques:
Stitch markers will make it easy to keep track of where you are. Place them at each * and the last semi-colon to mark the pattern repeats. You can choose to add beads to the edge for some sparkle. Beads are added individually on the bind off. Use the method you prefer, I used a crochet hook to add each bead to the loop on the left hand needle, and then knitted the stitch. There are only lace sts on the front side of the shawl, wrong sides are purled.
