Orchid Mandala
“My brioche mandala begins at the centre and grows outward in gentle waves, with regular increases shaping a floral-inspired circular design,” explains Sandra Nesbitt. “The rhythmic nature of brioche stitch combined with the meditative repetition of the pattern invites a mindful knitting experience - echoing the calming, centring essence of traditional mandalas.” Sandra has combined a self-striping sock yarn with a laceweight kidsilk yarn in a solid colour. For display purposes, the mandala is blocked, stretched and then joined to a 40cm embroidery hoop.
