Orca Tails
You can make a shorter scarf with one skein of yarn. Silk Garden will also work for a softer scarf.

This stitch pattern reminds me of the ocean with orca tails waving in the spray. It’s based on a traditional pattern known as ‘fish scale.’
Tension:
.your scarf will be about 5in/13cm wide in pattern (21 sts wide)
Materials:
• 2 50g/100m skeins Noro Kureyon colour used here is 128 or other heavy worsted yarn/wool (it would also look lovely in Silk Garden, if you prefer a slightly softer, less rustic look) -- the scarf will naturally lengthen a bit; if you’d like a shorter version, you could more than likely get a suitable scarf out of one skein
• set of 5mm/US8 needles
• tapestry needle
• crochet hook for applying fringe
Skill-level • Easy-Intermediate:

Repeat these rows for desired length of scarf, saving remaining yarn for fringe. End with a row 8. Knit one row. Bind off. Fringe if desired. I used two 12in/30cm lengths for each tassel and applied 13 tassels to each end to make fringe.
