Oran do Chaora

What else is a hand-knitted wool garment than an Oran do Chaora - a Song to a Ewe? Named for the beautiful song of Gaelic bard Donnchadh Bàn Mac an t-Saoir / Duncan Ban MacIntyre, this cropped cardigan features twisted-stitch panels and seamless saddle shoulder shaping.

Gauge-size and below gauge-size circular needles of appropriate lengths for working body, yoke, and neckline.
Gauge-size and below gauge-size needle(s) of your preferred type for working small circumferences for sleeves.
4 locking stitch markers. Waste yarn for holding stitches. Tapestry needle. 5 buttons.

Pattern notes
This cardigan is knitted seamlessly from the bottom up. Fronts and back are worked together in one piece to the underarms, then divided to work separately. Two sleeves are knitted in the round, then, after joining to the body, the yoke is worked in one piece and shaped using a combination of raglan and saddle shaping. After the neckline is bound off, buttonhole and button bands are added. Where only one number is given this applies to all sizes.
