Open Fields

The Open Fields Cowl is inspired by summer drives past fields of wheat, roadside wildflowers and canola, capped by our glorious open prairie sky. The stitch pattern is simple enough to be a relaxing knit, while the squishy garter in a soft yarn and the changing beauty of a handspun yarn will keep you knitting “just one more row” with delight.
I can see the open fields, the tall grass growing wild.
I can feel the wind on my face, hear the laughter of a child.
I can touch the sunlit waters and the early morning dew. You are such a friendly Manitoba, I’ll spend my time with you. ~Manitoba children’s song. Author unknown.
A spin-to-knit design, Open Fields is intended to showcase handspun yarns.
Spin yourself a glorious skein of yarn (7-8 WPI) in Cloud 9 Fiberworks Fluffy Roving (superwash merino) or indulge in a local handspun yarn (aran to bulky in weight).
Don’t be shy - embrace your handspun yarn.
