This scarf was designed to use just 50g of any of the lovely fingering weight yarn colorways that are available. Gauge is not important, except that it be a final texture that will drape nicely. This sample scarf uses 50g of KnitPicks Chroma fingering, 396yds/100g, color ‘Azalea’.
While the scarf borders are a lace pattern, the hyacinth stitch pattern is not lace, but ends up looking lacy.
It is designed so that both sides of the scarf have an attractive pattern, and that meant modifying the hyacinth stitch so that there is a K5tog as well as P5tog. P5tog is difficult and K5tog even more difficult. You will need needles with fine tips, and you will need to knit row 6 quite loosely.
I have rated the difficulty of this pattern as intermediate.
