One-liner Striped Carriage Blanket
One-liner’s stripe sequence is set up so that you don’t ever need to cut and re-attach yarns as you work: the color that you need next will be waiting for you at the end of the row. How cool is that?
This quick-to-knit carriage blanket is worked in one-row stripes with a 2 x 3 ribbed border: the top and bottom borders are worked with the blanket, and the sides are picked up and worked last.
The blanket shown here is worked in Peaches & Creme in Persimmon, Apple Green and Yellow, a bright, tart combination; soft colors and neutrals will work as well. You’ll need two balls (120 yds per ball) of each color.
A size 8 needle was used, larger than the yarn label calls for, which creates a soft, very drapey fabric. Using a smaller needle will, of course, make the fabric more dense and the dimensions of the blanket a little smaller. But that’s what mods are for.
