One Finger Mittens (Trigger Mitts)
For winter outdoor work, it is sometimes handy to have the forefinger separated from other fingers of a mitten. These mitts can be worn alone or as liners for leather one finger ‘cut’ gloves.
Designed for my husband, so only XL dimensions are given. The pattern also gives the palm and wrist circumference measurements.
The cuff has a needle change to cinch in at the wrist, then change again to increase for size of palm. It is recommended to try on the first mitt frequently, and adjust as needed for a more customized fit.
Approx. 160 yards of Tahki Donegal Tweed is used for this pattern (1 skein).
The Test Results: Well, the forefinger froze inside the leather gloves, but the One Finger Mitt was a success with wool gloves underneath!
I’d appreciate any feedback on errors, omissions, or clarifications.
