For those of you who play tennis a woolly cardigan is essential and you could not do better than choose one with revers and short sleeves for your new summer sports costume. HOW proud you would be to don this smart little cardigan after your game if it had been knitted by your own clever fingers! You could make it in the colours of your club.

The original was knitted in pale blue and brown wool to produce a raised stripe. A double-fronted vest of the paler colour in a contrasting stitch is in the front, and the colour repeated in bands on the sleeves and lower edge, and in the collar. The back is in stripes, but otherwise quite plain.

Tension, 7 stitches to the inch.

You will require 8oz. of blue Sirdar super Shetland wool, 3-ply, 2oz. of brown, a pair of No. 9 and a pair of No. 12 knitting needles, and 12 brown wooden buttons, says “Woman and Beauty.”

The cardigan measures 19in. in length, 34in. round the bust, and 7½in. sleeve seam.
