An easy and quick to knit hat and cowl, perfect for beginners. The trendy ombré effect is created with the tonal colour variations in elann.com Pure Intonation. Worked in the round, the cowl is knit as a simple tube, and the hat, with no crown shaping, is finished very simply with a 3-needle bind off, or if preferred, it can also be grafted together using Kitchener stitch. Faux fur or handmade pompoms complete the look.

NOTE: Purchase of pattern includes both Ombré Hair Day for DK weight and Plaid Hair Day for Aran weight.

Finished Measurements:

Hat - approx. 18, 20, 22” circumference by 7.5, 8, 9” high
Cowl - approx. 24” circumference by 11” high

Materials: 1 x 100g balls of elann Pure Intonation
One ball each for one Hat or for one Cowl.

OR approx. 220m (240 yds), of a DK weight 21-22 st/10cm (4”) yarn will be ample to knit one cowl, or to make any one of the three hat sizes plus large pompoms in the same yarn if desired.
