Olwen
Perfect for transitional weather, vests are the heroine of layering pieces. The Shaker stitch and cabled Olwen is no exception. This cozy popover uses our 100% wool, Deluxe Worsted, in the color Pulp – an ivory-white that perfectly suits the name, Olwen, meaning “white tracks.” It features modern vertical lines created by Shaker stitch with a lively cable motif that creates an intriguing front hemline, thanks to the differences in row gauges. Deep armholes allow comfortable layering – perfect for wearing over a blouse with billowy sleeves. If you prefer a more casual look, it works just as well on its own or over a tee. No matter how you style it, Olwen will be an excellent, versatile addition to your capsule wardrobe.

PATTERN NOTES
The Shaker stitch used in this piece creates an incredibly elastic fabric. If you choose the size within 0-2” of your finished bust measurement, the vest will fit comfortably over fitted tops and roomy blouses alike. For a slouchy, oversized fit, go up a size. If you prefer a more fitted fabric, you may wish to choose to go down a size.
This vest is knit flat in pieces from the bottom up and seamed. The front features a deep v-neck with shaping that is worked at the same time as armhole shaping. The back neck shaping and shoulder shaping are worked at the same time. Stitches for the neckband and armholes are picked up and knit in the round. The cable panels in this pattern are both written and charted.
