“My mother’s side of the family hails from Sweden, and I love Swedish names that honor my roots. Öljett is Swedish for “eyelet” or “grommet”, and this hat gets its name from the beautiful eyelets created by the uncomplicated crown shaping pattern. The clean, simple design of the hat allows the marled yarn to take focus and shine; as a bonus, working with Loft doubled creates a very cozy fabric.” – Jenny Gordy
CONSTRUCTION
- Hat is worked circularly from the bottom-up (brim to crown).
- Yarn is held double throughout – one strand of each color creates the marled look.
- The loop at the top of the crown is a simple crochet chain, worked after hat is complete.
