notes
Olivia Grand is a grown-up version of Olivia Petit, a jacket I designed and named after my baby daughter. This version retains the playfulness of the earlier design, but includes some grown-up touches such as waist shaping and an expanded flower motif for the back flounce detail. Knitted from the top down and entirely seamless, this jacket will fly off the needles. If you’re a button addict like me, you’ll have great fun picking out candy colored buttons to coordinate with Lark’s delicious colors for a piece that’s both prim and whimsical.
Jacket is worked from the top down with raglan shaping. Short rows are used to shape the front neck. After the neck shaping is done, the raglan shaping continues and the buttonholes begin. After the raglan increases are completed and the sleeves have been divided from the body, the buttonholes continue, then the flower peplum begins on the back body. The flower peplum uses increases to produce a slight A-line flare in the back.
