Olive Street Cardigan
For several years I have wanted to make a garter stitch cardigan. I adore garter stitch! It is easy to work, dense and warm, with an appealing, classic, hand-knit look. The increases used in this cardigan are barely visible giving the garter stitch an uninterrupted surface over the entire sweater.
The shape is simple and classic to match the stitch. The notched neck is echoed in the back bottom rib border giving the classic shape subtle modern details.
The cardigan is worked top down, all in one piece. The front bands and neck bands are picked up and worked at the end.
