Old Library Shawl
Rows of archways and towering shelves of books are framed by luminous windows in Trinity College’s Old Library. In this shawl the architectural forms of that library are formed by fun and easy mosaic knitting. This pattern is easy to memorize once you get going so get ready for an engaging knit and stylish finished piece. Both fully written and charted instructions are provided so you can knit from your preferred instructional format. There is also a Stitch Count Tracker/Checklist to keep track of your progress included.

There are Maximize Yarn Usage instructions in the main pattern. They will allow you to knit until you run out of yarn. This will make your final set of Archways taller. Please note that the sample shawl in the photos and listed dimensions does not use these instructions and is the basic pattern as written. Also if you choose to make the pattern with a yarn that has less yardage than my sample, instructions are provided so you will not be playing yarn chicken.
The fifth photo shows what the wrong side looks like if you’re curious!
Transparency Note
This pattern originally had a name inspired by a series of books about a boy wizard. The name has been changed because I cannot condone this author’s views. The new name reflects one of the building’s I took inspiration from to create the architectural columns. All pattern proceeds made with the original name have been donated to The Trans Justice Funding Project.
