This is a very simple hat pattern, orginally written for the Shuttles, Spindles and Skeins Community Knitting Group — knitters who come together to create warm woolens for families in need. Knit it for yourself, or distribute this pattern for your own community knitting project.

This is meant to be a stash-busting pattern that uses anywhere from 80 yds (for a cap or child’s hat) to 180+ yards (for a turned up brim or slouch). Add or subtract stitches from the cast-on in increments of 4 to make the hat smaller or larger.
