This pattern is designed to use one special skein of fingering weight yarn, together with an assortment of your leftovers in contrasting colors for a fun result. You can also make it in just 2 colors for a sophisticated geometric tile effect.
Simple stitches and easy stitch placement make this a project you’ll reach for again and again.
This cowl is worked in the round without turning.
Yarn
Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply
100% superwash Merino wool; 400 yd/3.9 oz (365 m/110 g) skeins
1 skein in main color, shown in Devoted Idea for multicolor sample, or Daguerreotype for two-color sample.
And
Approximately 150 yds/137 m of fingering yarn in contrasting color(s), shown in Franklin, Rainforest, Bougainvillea, Eternity, Herbalist, Beryl, Dark Fury, and Nori for multicolor sample, or using one Yummy 2-Ply Toe (133 yds) in Obsidian for two-color sample.
Or 400 yards/365 meters of fingering weight yarn in main color, plus a total of approximately 133-150 yards/121-137 meters of fingering weight yarn in an assortment of contrasting colors. Each contrast color stripe requires approximately 6 yd/6 m.

US F 3.75mm hook, or size to obtain gauge
Gauge
23 dc in Block Stitch Pattern = 4”/10 cm.
14 rounds of Block Stitch pattern (8 dc rounds and 8 sc rounds) = 4”/10 cm.
Gauge is not crucial for this project, but will affect yardage and finished size if different from above.
