I love making simple shawls. Alternating two different yarns in a garter pattern is fairly mindless, however at the same time you can enjoy watching how the two different yarns develop in a pattern together. Garter pattern is broken with eyelet bands for a bit more sophistication. The mohair with merino yarn creates luxurious, warm and soft fabric.

YARN
1 skein of sport weight yarn, approx. 300 metres/ 328 yards and 1 skein of lace yarn (mohair-silk), approx. 210 metres / 229 yards.

The sample was made using 100% Merino in Hedgehog Fibres Sporty Singles in Liebling colour-way as a main colour and 70% Mohair with 30% Silk in Beautiful Knitters Chelsea in Cream colourway as a contrasting colour.
