Oakenshield Armoured is a hat pattern is for a stranded colourwork beanie style hat based on the pattern of plated armour worn by Thorin Oakenshield in the Hobbit films.

The pattern comprises two charts and a general recipe for sizing up or down. Stitch counts are given for the small adult size 55.5cm head circumference.

I cast on 100 sts and worked 1x1 rib for band, then I increased 8 sts evenly across round before beginning body chart.

The double decreases in the crown chart are centered on darker coloured stitch. After chart is complete draw yarn through loops.

You will need approximately 1 x 50g skein each of two colours for the small adult size. Any DK weight would be suitable.
