Jilly & Kiddles Fancy Sock 85% Superwash Merino, 15% Nylon | 437 yds/400m per 100g skein. The sample used “Conifer.” This yarn is a soft 4-ply sock yarn with a medium ply density. This top looks best in a semi-solid or tonal colorway.

FIT NOTES & CHOOSING THE CORRECT SIZE
• The sample is shown with 8” (20 cm) of positive ease, and is designed for 6-10” (15-25 cm) of positive ease. The model is 5’5” (1.68 m) tall and is wearing a 48” (120 cm) circumference top on a 40” (100 cm) bust.
• The sample top has a sleeve depth of 7.5” (19 cm) and neckline width of 13.5” (34 cm)
• Measure yourself at the widest part of your torso, then add approximately 6-10” (15-25 cm) to that measurement to find your ideal top circumference. The extra width added on is called positive ease.
• While you could make it with less positive ease, if you have little to none you won’t have sleeves, and the neckline will be higher and tighter against your neck. Conversely, if you make it with too much positive ease (like 16-20”/40-50 cm) you’ll basically just have a poncho.
• The sleeves are created by the positive ease and where you choose to join the neckline.
• The neckline depth is created by blocking rather than decreases. Photos and a diagram will show you how to achieve the neckline depth desired.
• This is meant to be a flowy lace tunic top with side splits up to approximately the natural waist for ease of wear and extra motion.

Because of the custom nature of the neckline and armhole depth, no measurements are given for these. Detailed instructions and a marked photo are given to help you try on the top and place your seams where you desire for the best fit.
