I love this shawl for many reasons. First, it allows me to create a complete project using just one skein. It’s a piece that can truly transform an outfit, adding a touch of light and elegance. I love the magic of transforming a simple, even boring outfit into something adorable, and I think this shawl is perfect to make in different colors. It’s also very quick to knit, which makes it a perfect gift — especially if you already know your mom’s favorite color for Mother’s Day. It took me only four days to make, which makes it very accessible. I used one skein of light blue yarn and less than 10 meters of leftovers to add a small edge detail. I made it in crochet, but you could easily finish it with a small border and a delicate cast-off, and achieve a very similar effect. Simple, beautiful, and full of possibilities.

Notes
This shawl is worked diagonally from corner to corner. Upon finishing, an edge of single crochet is worked around in a contrasting colour. If you don’t want to crochet, instructions for a knitted edge are also included. The finished piece is a square, measured diagonally from corner to corner.
