Nuala
Nuala is a yoke sweater knit seamlessly in the round from the bottom up. The fit is tailored but relaxed with an elegantly sloped neckline.
Nuala is a name derived from Irish mythology and is possibly a diminutive of Fionnuala, meaning “fair shoulder” or an alternate name for Úna, which perhaps means “lamb”. Either way it seems an appropriate name for a shoulder-focused piece of knitwear.
A note on yarn substitution: The sample is shown in a 50/50 blend of new and recycled cashmere that knits up at 22 sts over 4” on a size 7 needle. Any yarn that yields the same gauge can be used so both DK and worsted weights might be acceptable substitutes, however the original yarn has both excellent bloom and drape so those are qualities to look for when substituting. As ever, swatch and see.
