For a while I’ve wanted to make a fun, smock-type pullover with little pockets, and this sweet sweater fits the bill.

The deeply textured borders are worked in a simple slipped stitch pattern, and then the main body has waist shaping and features a puckered stitch that slowly gets smaller.

The yoke has a split neckline with raglan shaping that allows you add your own buttons for closure.

This lightweight, bamboo blend yarn is soft and cozy next to the skin and has a slightly marled look and great drape.

This is an intermediate pattern, you need to be able to increase, decrease, be comfortable working in the round, as well as follow a stitch pattern. All the textured stitches in the pattern as easy to achieve and no cabling is involved.

Pattern Notes

  • Pullover is worked in one piece from the bottom up. The body is worked first, the sleeves are worked to the underarm, and then they are joined together and worked in rnds to the split neckline. At that point, the yoke is worked in rows to the top border.
  • The pockets stitches are placed on a holder; they are picked up and worked last.
