Not A Boyfriend Sweater
Earlier this fall, I was given an excellent opportunity to choose some yarn to design a sweater. With the impending cold weather, I began dreaming of a bulky sweater that could be worn outside on its own. I’ve often seen sweaters targeted at women that imply they are meant to look like you’re wearing you’re boyfriend’s sweater. They’re slightly oversized, and cozy looking. I set about designing my own Boyfriend Sweater, just for me. Whether it’s for you, or your boyfriend… it will be a cozy knit that is loved for years to come.
The sizing in this sweater makes for a great unisex fit. The minimal shaping, and simple design make for a great first sweater pattern. It features an Imitation Saddle Shoulder, that looks flattering on all body types.
This sweater is knit entirely in the round. First the sleeves are knit as separate tubes, and set aside. Next, the body will be knit. When all three components are ready, they are joined as one large piece of circular knitting that goes straight up to the neck. Finishing the sweater will only require weaving in ends, and grafting stitches at each underarm.
