North Woods Wrap
Designed like an old-fashioned square shawl, but big enough for a blanket, the North Woods Wrap can be anything you want it to be, as long as you want it to be cozy. The pattern calls for 15 skeins of Berroco Kodiak. The incredibly soft, light-as-air yarn makes the folded shawl thick and warm, but virtually weightless.
The wrap is knit in the round, from the center out, starting on double pointed needles, switching to a 16” circular, then increasingly larger circular needles, up to 60”. (Exact lengths for the circular needles are not given, since the shawl condenses to fit a variety of sizes throughout the project. The pictured shawl was knit on 16”, 24”, 40”, and 60” circular needles.)
Finished Measurements - 52” a side
75” from corner to corner
This wrap is very large, but can easily be made smaller by varying the number of rows in the stockinette sections.
- Since Berroco Kodiak has been discontinued, Berroco North Star would be a suitable substitute.
