This garment is designed for men’s sizing, but can of course be worn by men or women. The garment shown is chest size 106.5cm (42in) and so is very oversized for the model.
This design is inspired by the Norfolk Slop and incorporates a traditional Sheringham Guernsey pattern on the yoke and sleeves. It is knitted in the round, bottom up from the welt to shoulders and the sleeves are knitted top down from armhole to cuff. Traditionally and for assured comfort for the wearer, this design features gussets underarm and at the neck. The cuffs and collar are lined with toning yarns in a Tweed Stitch, matching the two patch pockets.
This oversized design is meant to be worn loose but choose whichever size you like according to the desired fit.
100% Pure New Wool from the historic New Lanark Mills is the yarn chosen here. This is a lovely yarn to work with and is available in a glorious range of colours and has the added boost that buying this yarn helps to support the historic mill village of New Lanark.
