Inspired by one of my favorite movies and a darn sexy actor who left us too soon, these socks are reminiscent of the two main characters in the movie Dirty Dancing - Baby & Johnny.

Frances Houseman (aka Baby) arrives at Kellerman’s a naive young woman with aspirations to change the world. Johnny Castle is a worldly dancer who at first seems to be a one-dimensional playboy. However as their relationship progresses, we see each demonstrating characteristics of the other - Baby learning that the world isn’t always fair, and Johnny realizing that some things - and people - are worth fighting for.

These socks are designed as a fraternal pair with each sock using different, coordinating charts. You can knit one Baby sock and one Johnny sock to make the pair. Or if having a different pattern on each sock makes you twitchy, you could knit two Baby or two Johnny - a left and right version is available for each.

The lace represents Baby while the cables represent Johnny, with each sock incorporating both - more of one, a little of the other. The combining of the two patterns shows the intertwining of their lives, and the cables are also inspired by their dancing.

There are three sizes available - small (68 sts), medium (72 sts), and large (80 sts). As with any pattern, gauge can also be changed via needle size and yarn thickness.
