This pattern is part of my ongoing Avalon series, which explores a variety of cabled designs. These designs are inspired by the novel Mists of Avalon.

There is a legendary love triangle between Arthur, Gwenhwyfar, and Lancelot. In the end, Lancelot marries Elaine. Together they have a daughter, Nimue, known for her beauty.

This design employs a series of elegant cables, using simple cabling techniques to achieve a complex-looking piece.

I used aggressive blocking in this piece to create light fabric with a lot of drape, rather that the stiffer fabric that often comes with cables.
