Nicole is a crescent shaped shawl and is worked from the top down.

It features a variety of lace patterns, with a combination of solid areas and openwork sections, finishing with a decorative hem edging with optional beading. There are two versions, for standard and fine Laceweight yarns, with slightly different edgings.

Designed to be quite challenging and interesting to work, this design is recommended for those with a reasonable level of experience.

Finished size is 60-63 cm (24-25 inches) centre back depth, 130-134 cm (51-53 inches) wingspan tip to tip.

As written, the standard laceweight version takes 100g/800m and 420 size 6 beads and the fine lace version takes 100g/1,200m and 945 size 8 beads within 3-bead picots. You can omit the beads altogether, or use single bead picots if preferred.

Nicole could be worked in thicker weights but this would require considerably more yarn.

With thanks to my wonderful pattern tester and official proof reader, Lesley!
