Niamh cardigan builds on the classic oversized cardigan silhouette - adding a scalloped edge and grid pattern. On top of this, it also provides the perfect canvas for personalisation through duplicate stitching.

This cardigan is designed to have at least 6”/15cm of ease at the bust, which means the finished garment will be at least 6”/15cm larger than your actual bust measurement.

Sizes: 5 sizes to fit 28-62” bust, with additional made-to-measure options to fit any size and gauge

Techniques: Cable cast on, picking up stitches along horizontal and vertical edge, M1L, M1R, K2tog, working in rounds, 2x2 rib, mattress seam, scallop edge bind off

Needles:
4.5mm circular needles (or needle used for gauge swatch) 
4mm circular needles with 40”/100cm cord (or one size smaller than gauge swatch needle) 

Notions:
Stitch markers, scissors, tapestry needle, ruler or tape measure, (optional) hook and eye button

Sample is made with Drops Soft Tweed from Drops yarn (50g/130m). DK or worsted weight yarn is suggested for this project.

925 (1086, 1171, 1310, 1340) m
1012 (1189, 1281, 1434, 1466) yards

For every extra inch/2.5cm in length, 
24 (29, 31, 37, 39) m
26 (31, 34, 40, 43) yards

Suggested gauge: 17 st x 26 rows in pattern = 4” x 4” (10cm x 10cm)
