Newsprint Hat
by Lorna Miser
Lora Miser designed this hat to feature the techniques described in her article “How to Merge Solid and Variegated Yarns” (part of the “Lorna’s Helpful Hints for Hand-Dyes” series) in the August 2013 issue of Knit ‘n Style. The bottom band is worked in a solid color and the crown is worked with the variegated yarn doubled first with the solid and then with itself. The result is a tweed-like multi-colored crown with neither striping nor color pooling. It is suitable for both men or women.
